These are the plugins I chose to activate for my website and the reasoning for each:
Security
For security, I chose the Wordfence Security plugin because I have used it before, and it does an amazing job of keeping scammers from hacking into my site. It tells me how many have tried to log into my account, and it’s blocked every single one. This is great for both me as an administrator and the visitors on my site because it keeps it safe and ensures there aren’t any viruses or issues.
Accessibility
For accessibility, I chose the Accessibility Widget plugin. This plugin helps visitors by letting them customize text size, color contrast, and reading orientation of my site to fit their needs.
Automated Backups
I chose the BackWPup plugin for my site. Backups are important for any site in case an update messes up their site appearance, and could keep the site from losing a lot of progress if the person’s browser crashes randomly.
Website Analytics
I chose the Site Kit by Google plugin for viewing my site analytics. According to WordPress.org, it has over 5 million active installations. This plugin helps me by consolidating my business insights into one page, while helping my visitors by including optimizations that directly improve their browsing experience.
Performance
For my website’s performance, I chose the Performance Lab plugin. It will help me and my visitors by offering quick page loading speed, image optimization, and link loading.
Social Media
For social media, I chose to add the Social Media and Share Icons (Ultimate Social Media) plugin to my site. It will improve my visitors’ experience by allowing them to find out about my YouTube channel and Instagram with one click. It works well for me too, because they can also quickly share my site or channel with others who could be interested, and I would get more attention for my website.
Comment/Spam Management
Spam comments were a serious issue for me when I made my first site. For this, I used the Anti-Spam by CleanTalk plugin. It’s important to include a plugin like this on your website; otherwise, the comment section is a jumbled mess, and it could potentially lead visitors to accidentally click on viruses.
Podcasting
For this, I chose the MP3 Audio Player by Sonaar plugin. It is useful for the administrator because it creates its own page that you can easily add podcasts to. It also makes navigating through your podcasts easier for visitors.
Slider Feature
I chose the MetaSlider Slideshow plugin. It helps make my site more appealing by allowing me to add slideshows easily, and it gives me a lot of options for customization.
E-commerce
Having a shop on your site is amazing for attention and getting people interested in what you are selling. I chose WooCommerce for this because it is the most popular plugin for making shops in WordPress, and because it offers so many extra options and customizations to add to your shop.
